We have cooked with it for a couple of weeks now. I like how it cooks and keeps all the heat and flavor inside. I would have gave it a higher rating but the cooking times posted on the infomercial were a bit misleading I thought. Just about everything they showed was cooked in 13 minutes. Well, it takes a little longer for everythng we have tried. Especially if you are cooking raw vegetables like carrots or potatoes with your meal. Expect more like 45 minutes before they are not too crunchy. Thick meats like large chicken breasts or pork tenderloins take longer as well, more like 30 min. You have to put foil over the top of them to keep them from scorching the outside, but the foil slows down the cook time. We still really like the cooker, I am just saying don't plan on everything taking only 13... I was AMAZED. it cooked it great, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I actually think its better from frozen because it locks in the juice better than if the bird is thawed out, but I could be wrong. only bad thing is you have to flip it half way thru, so get some silicone gloves. Oh, and make sure to get the extender ring! It reheats like a king, ends up tasting as it did when you first made it, or doggy-bagged it. The pizza thing is great too. The things it doesn't do well is steak, unless you are short on time. Nothing beats a grilled steak, sorry. So, yes, this thing is great on space, energy, and a snap to clean up in the dish washer. 42 of 44 people found the following review helpful Good product but it has a bad component, By Hammercook (Boynton Beach, FL) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: NuWave Oven: Pro Digital Black with Extender Ring The NuWave oven pretty much does what it's billed as. It does cook from frozen rather easily, which is terrific since most other appliances don't. It browns nicely on the outside while cooking on the inside. It's low maintenance and doesn't generate much kitchen heat if at all. It is very easy to use and I imagine it would be terrific for folks with little or no cooking experience, or those who need to cook something quickly from frozen after coming home from work. Plus, it cooks means and vegetables together using the supplied racks, making clean-up very easy. All great features. Now, the downside. The liner pan discolors even after the first use. The first time I cooked fish with lemon, patches of the black coating turned gray. I sent digital pictures to the manufacturer and they sent me a replacement, recommending I use tin foil over the liner pan if I'm using lemon. Well, the next meal I cooked was meat without lemon and I did use tin foil. The new one... Read more |
