I was a little surprised at the price but found that it is worth it. It is built very sturdy and does what it was made to. The stainless steel looks great and is very sleek. One thing though... GETS VERY HOT, but as long as you use the handle you will be fine. I really like that it came with a filter in it and has the automatic turn off when it reaches the appropriate temperature. If you're willing to pay $69+ for a water heater you will not be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Braun makes an Impression, January 2, 2005

It really does. And it is a member of the new Impression line of appliances from Braun.

I have been using a Braun WK200 water kettle for years and I am quite pleased with it. It is made of quality plastic and made in Germany. I have no reason to think it won't last forever and I use it every day to boil water for green tea.

However, I spotted the WK600 in one of the stores and, after an internet search, found the same kettle for sale that put Amazon's price to shame, at little more than half of Amazon's price. (Sorry, Amazon.) Needless to say, I took advantage of the lower price.

The WK600 is a quality appliance and exceedingly well made, although it is made in China. It will be just at home in your kitchen as it would be on your dining room table.

Some features you will want to know about the WK600:

2200 watts

Capacity: 1.7L

Easy-read water level indicator (both sides)

On/off pilot light (both... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Good kettle that is metal, not plastic, January 3, 2006

My main concern with the purchase of an electric kettle was that I did not want a plastic one, yet I wanted the convenience and speed of an electric kettle. The idea of boiling water in a plastic kettle scares me a bit-I don't want the chemicals leeching out into the water for me to drink. Granted, this kettle does have some plastic inside such as on the lid and in the water level indicator, but for the most part, it's all metal, which I feel safer with.

This kettle is not just handy for tea and instant coffee, but also for boiling water for pasta or any other cooking which requires hot water. It gets me there faster and more energy efficiently than boiling water on the stovetop.

It works as advertised, looks good and seems like it will last a long time. Note-you are not supposed to store water in the kettle indefinitely as this may cause it to leak. You are only supposed to use it and then after you have used it and are done for the day/night, empty it and store... Read more
